You will also be given proper training so that these accidents are not at all likely to happen. Also, you will take classes with an experienced instructor who can rescue someone who does get into an accident while taking the course.
Where Do I Learn to Dive?
Scuba diving centers are located all over the country, even in areas with no ocean nearby. You can often learn to scuba dive wherever you are with the use of a lake, river, or another body of water. If you prefer to lean in an ocean, you can take the practical portion of your certification in your hometown and then visit a tropical locale, like Maui, to do the open water diving portion.
How Fit Do I Need to Be?
You don’t have to be overly fit scuba dive, but there are some fitness requirements. You have to be at least ten years old. You also need to have a medical release from your physician if you suffer or have suffered from a serious medical condition in the past. How Do I Learn?
You only need to complete a short course to receive your certification to scuba dive. The first part involves answering quizzes or exams about important aspects of the sport. The second section is a confined water dive. You’ll be doing these in a pool or similar location. You’ll need to show skill in controlling your buoyancy, breathing underwater, and removing your mask while submerged. The last stage of the course involves dives in the ocean or a lake.
